Recruitment, Selection and Induction

Overview

A practical course that takes you through the legal and best practice elements of effective and fair recruitment. The training is based on Acas own non statutory guidance on Recruitment and Induction.

Business Need

Recruiting people who are wrong for the organisation can lead to performance issues, grievances, increased costs, and lowering of morale in the existing workforce. Such people are likely to be disengaged, unlikely to give of their best, and end up leaving voluntarily or involuntarily when their unsuitability becomes evident.

Employers want to ensure that they are acting legally and have a responsibility to ensure that no unlawful discrimination occurs in the recruitment and selection process.

Jargon free and practical, this course will ensure that your business is on the right track; from the appropriateness of pre employment health questionnaires, to the interview process, the taking up of references and ultimately avoiding employment tribunals.

The half day course includes interactive workshops where delegates will have the chance to discuss and reflect upon their own recruitment experiences and embed what they have learnt in a safe environment.

Suitable For

This session is ideal for delegates with little or no human resource expertise. The course covers all aspects of recruitment - leaving our delegates with a sound understanding of the fundamentals which underpin an effective and fair process
